// week 06 · day 03 · wednesday · town hall #6 + lip dub final shot

Year-long structure, lip dub lock.

Two big events today. Town Hall #6 — the last BTT Town Hall — is where the studio proposes how Town Hall runs the rest of the year. It's the ultimate ownership moment. And by end of Quest, the Lip Dub final shot is in the can. Tomorrow it gets watched, edited if needed, and prepared for Friday's premiere.

Morning Launch — The day of two big shots

The opener (3 min):

"Today is the day we lock two things in. At Town Hall, we propose how the rest of the year's Town Halls run. At Quest, we film the final Lip Dub. Both are moments where what we've practiced has to land."

The framing (10 min):

"Town Hall #6 is different because the proposal isn't about this week or next week — it's about next month, next quarter, next May. We're writing the rules for the future us. That's a real act of self-government. Take it seriously."

"Lip Dub final filming — by end of Quest, we need a take we're happy with. We've got the practice. Trust it. Don't overthink. Have fun. The camera doesn't care if you smile too big."

ELA Block — Contract polish + Town Hall prep

Two threads today:

  • (30 min) Standard ELA: brief, focused.
  • (20 min) Contract polish: the Studio Manual Editor (with a few helpers) takes the Monday draft and does a final polish. Print 25 copies — one per learner + 5 wall copies.
  • (15 min) Town Hall #6 prep: the Wednesday Town Hall Leader runs through their plan for today's meeting with the guide. The agenda is preview by the studio at end of block.

Town Hall #6 — Year-Long Structure

Format and agenda follow the standard Town Hall structure, but the main topic this week is the proposal for how Town Hall runs the rest of the year.

The agenda:

  • (3 min) Welcome. Town Hall Leader opens. "This is the last BTT Town Hall. After this, we're proposing how we want this meeting to run for the rest of the year."
  • (2 min) ICEE check. Tally Keeper shares Friday's results.
  • (15 min) The big question: What works about how we run Town Hall? What doesn't? What do we want for the rest of the year? Discussion structured: 5 min "what works," 5 min "what doesn't," 5 min "what we propose."
  • (10 min) Decisions captured. The Notetaker reads back: who leads, how the topic box works, how often it meets, what stays, what changes.
  • (5 min) Lip Dub heads-up. Final filming is in Quest today. Last questions before we go for it.
  • (5 min) Close. Recognition: "This is the last BTT Town Hall, but the first of a thousand we'll run together as a studio."

Launch Circle Final Coaching

Every learner pairs with the guide or co-guide for 5 minutes of personal coaching on their Launch Plan. (If there are too many learners for 5 min each, do pairs of learners coaching each other while the guide rotates.)

The coaching prompt: "Walk me through your Launch as if I were a parent who'd never been here. Where do you get stuck? What's your opener? Your activity? Your close?"

End-of-block: everyone has done one full walk-through with feedback.

1:50 – 2:50 · 60 minquest · LIP DUB FINAL FILMING

LIP DUB — Final Filming

This is the take. By end of block, we have the Lip Dub we'll show Friday.

  • (10 min) Setup: route cleared, camera ready, song queued. Camera operator does one final walk of the route.
  • (10 min) Warmup run: one practice run to shake nerves out. NOT for filming.
  • (40 min) Filming: aim for 3-4 takes. After each: watch playback together briefly, note what to keep/change. Last take is the final unless an earlier one is clearly better.

End of block: studio watches all takes. By vote, pick the final cut. The Lip Dub is in the can.

// if something goes wrong

If the filming truly doesn't land today, Thursday afternoon has a buffer — but only as last resort. Better to ship a slightly imperfect Wednesday cut than to redo Thursday and lose dry run time.

2:50 – 3:30 · 40 minclosing

Studio Maintenance · Character Callouts · Reflection

Standard rhythm. Tonight's Character Callouts should pour in — today is big. Today's reflection prompt: "What did you notice about the studio during the Lip Dub final take? About yourself?"

04

Go deeper · stretch · empower

For the Town Hall Leader today

This is a big TH to lead. Pull them aside in the morning. Reassure: "You don't have to be perfect — the studio will help you. Just hold the agenda."

For the camera operator

Today is their moment. They've been practicing. Trust them. After filming, the studio should specifically thank the camera operator — that role gets underrecognized.

For learners who under-performed in the Lip Dub

Some learners will be disappointed in their take. Don't promise it can be re-shot. Coach: "What's the next thing you can put your energy into? Thursday's dry run is yours."

For the guide

Tonight: watch the final Lip Dub one more time. Edit if needed (basic trim). Tomorrow you bring it to dry run as a finished piece.
