Week 3 is the bridge week — D2 actively serves as leaders across the school. We visit Spark and help with the Work It Out tool. We collaborate with D1 on a shared project. We sit with Exploration to learn from learners further down the road. The school becomes a single tribe for five days, with D2 holding a unique anchoring role.
D2 learners go to Spark studio, sit in on Spark routines, observe Work It Out moments, support gently when invited.
// day 02 · tuesdayJoint project or activity with D1 — D2 in the role-model position. Could be a Civ project, a build challenge, or a read-along.
// day 03 · wednesdayWednesday Town Hall focuses on cross-studio observations and what D2 is learning about leadership.
// day 04 · thursdayMajor school-wide moment. D2 learners help plan and run. Possible Adventure Day announcement.
// day 05 · fridayD2 visits Exploration (or vice versa). Older learners share their journey. D2 sees their future self.
We talk explicitly about what we hold ourselves to this week. Specific behaviors named, specific moments to watch for.
Where: Day 1 Morning Launch
When a Spark learner is using Work It Out, our job is to be present, not to fix. The skill of waiting, of asking questions instead of giving answers.
Where: Day 1 Quest
Daily 5-min reflections on cross-studio observations — what did you see today that made you proud or made you think?
Where: Threaded through the week
Overstepping with Sparks. Some D2 learners will want to fix Spark behaviors. Coach them constantly: "You're not the guide. You're the role model. Watch, support if invited, otherwise stay out."
Cross-studio fatigue. Five days of social-emotional output is exhausting. Protect quiet time inside D2 each day — don't make every block cross-studio.
Leaving introverts behind. Some D2 learners will find this week overwhelming. Build in alternatives — observation roles, journal roles, smaller pair-ups.
